The RSPH Level 4 Certificate in Nutrition for Food Service Providers builds off the foundations established in the Level 1, 2, 3 and 4 Awards regarding the importance and principles of a well-balanced diet, current public health guidance on healthy eating and the relationship between diet and health.
This accredited qualification covers the key role of nutrition in health and wellbeing. It will provide you with the knowledge and understanding of the nutritional requirements for a healthy diet, the effect of diet on health and the importance of hydration. These principles are then applied to fulfilling the dietary requirements for individuals utilising the catering services of a particular food service provider.
This qualification is on The Education and Skills Funding Agency list of qualifications approved for funding.
This qualification is regulated by Ofqual/CCEA and Qualification Wales.
Who is this qualification for?
Level 4 Nutrition for Food Service Providers is suitable for people working in the catering, fitness, hospitality, leisure or care sectors and others who are in a position to promote healthy eating. It is also relevant to health and teaching professionals who might have a role in the promotion of healthy eating or the preparation of meals, menus and diets.

By completing this qualification, you will come away with a practical, actionable knowledge of the importance and principles of nutrition, including:
- Understanding the sources, functions and uses of macro and micronutrients
- Understanding the energy, nutrient and hydration requirements of individuals throughout life
- Understanding the effects of diet on health
- Understanding legislation as it relates to labelling and advertising of foods
