What is asbestos laboratory management?

Laboratory Managers play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of an asbestos laboratory. Similarly, Project Managers oversee removal work from start to finish and are responsible for approving, authorising and verifying asbestos work across a project.

This qualification will provide you with the skills and knowledge that you need to carry out either role in a safe and effective manner. Possession of this qualification by their staff will also help organisations and companies meet the accreditation criteria for ISO17025 (testing laboratories) and the requirements of UKAS document LAB30.

How long does it take to complete? 

The qualification takes a total of 140 hours to complete, including 18 hours of guided learning time, of written examinations, portfolio of evidence. 

Career progression 

Learners who achieve this qualification can progress to employment within asbestos testing laboratories and as on-site managers of asbestos removal operations.
