Surveyors and other specialists play a key role in protecting public health by inspecting buildings and advising how any asbestos that is found can be managed. This regulated Level 3 qualification will help you to carry out this role and help organisations and companies to meet the accreditation criteria for ISO 17020

What is asbestos surveying?

The Control of Asbestos Regulations impose duties on every person who has, by virtue of a contract or tenancy, an obligation in relation to the maintenance or repair of non-domestic premises to manage the risk from asbestos. There is therefore a need for surveyors and similar specialists to have the knowledge to inspect buildings and premises for asbestos and to advise on how to manage any asbestos found.

This industry-recognised qualification will provide you with the skills, knowledge and competencies you need to work as an Asbestos Surveyor. This qualification is regulated by Ofqual/CCEA and Qualification Wales.

How long does it take to complete? 

The qualification takes a total of 40 hours to complete, including 22 hours of guided learning time, of written examinations, portfolio of evidence. 

Career progression 

Learners who achieve this qualification can progress to the RSPH Level 4 Certificate in Asbestos Laboratory and Project Management.
