RSPH Level 1 Award in Asbestos Awareness
Level 1 Ref. Q000004
Asbestos carries a number of risks to our health and wellbeing. This qualification is designed for those who may be exposed to asbestos within their working environment and require a simple overview of the risks.

Why is asbestos awareness important?
Exposure to asbestos can lead to a number of serious health conditions, including increasing the risk of respiratory issues and cancers. The Control of Asbestos Regulations requires employers to ensure that their employees receive adequate information, instruction and training relating to the risks due to asbestos if they are liable to be exposed to this material.
This qualification helps employers meet this requirement by explaining to learners the effects of asbestos on the health of individuals, the types of material likely to contain asbestos, the location of these materials within buildings, and procedures for minimising the risk of asbestos fibre release.
This qualification is regulated by Ofqual/CCEA and Qualification Wales.
This qualification is on The Education and Skills Funding Agency list of qualifications approved for funding.
