Theodore Stickley PhD MA DipCouns. DipN PGCHE AMRSPH RMN
Theo Stickley trained as a mental health nurse and therapeutic counsellor. He has practised and taught both professions. He worked for nearly twenty years at the University of Nottingham.
He is a qualitative researcher and the main focus of his research in the last 20 years has been the arts and health, mostly focusing upon the mental health benefits of engaging with arts activities and has published widely on this topic and on human relations in nursing. Theo is now a Senior Fellow at the Institute of Mental Health in Nottingham. He now befriends asylum seekers and refugees and continues his arts practices.
Joanna Saunders MPH CertHSM FRSPH
Joanna worked as an Honorary Research Fellow at Leeds Beckett University from 2016-2021 as part of a multidisciplinary team developing and testing Public Health England's Whole Systems Approach to tackling Obesity. Following publication of the guide and supporting material in 2019, Joanna and the team supported a number of local government and health organisations across England and Scotland in implementing whole systems approaches to complex public health problems.
Before working at LBU, she has over 25 years’ experience working in senior health improvement management roles in the NHS and local government in South Yorkshire; developing, commissioning and managing a wide range of health improvement services including award-winning integrated healthy weight services.
Prior to working in PH she worked in health services administration and management. Joanna has been a Fellow of RSPH for a number of years and a member of the Editorial Board of PPH since 2012. Joanna has a MPH from Sheffield Hallam University and a Certificate in Health Services Management from the same institution when it was a Polytechnic.
